Making New Friends After Moving

How will I make new friends when I move?

Moving from the comforts of your own home to a new city and the unknown is quite daunting, but the university and its associations try to help in any way they can. Make sure you introduce yourself to people when you move in, they’ll generally be in the same boat and someone has to make the first move!

If you can, go to Freshers Week and find out if there are any Freshers Pub Crawls - this is only for new students and is a fantastic way to make friends whilst enjoying a drink and partying! Even if you don’t drink go along, you’ll still have a good time!

When you begin attending classes there will be group work and partnering required so you’ll meet new people there too. Thousands of students across the UK are in similar circumstances so don’t worry, you’ll be fine!
