Crazy Cycling Injury

25 October 2008 25,254 views 8 CommentsPrint This Post Print This Post Email This Post Email This Post

Cycling can be a dangerous sport and way to get around. Cars, buses and impatient taxi drivers are all hazards…and now trees!

The friend of this unfortunate cyclist ran over a large branch which kicked up and impaled him, causing a broken Fibula and a freaky set of photographs!

The emergency services had to cut the ends of the branch off to get him into the ambulance! Heavy duty antibiotics were pumped into this guy to help deal with the pain!

He looks a bit too comfortable in that first posed picture. Perhaps we had lots of morphine?

    antibiotics to handle pain? o_O

OK… Sorry… it would take more that a couple shots of morphine for me on that one… just give me a morphine drip until the work is done and I will move on.

I would like to see how your friend it doing now… that is just nasty and I am sure that there will be some physical therapy in the near future too. Nerve damage, muscle loss, bone loss… Man!

    Good luck to him.

Just an FYI: Antibiotics don’t do anything for pain. Although I’m sure they gave him plenty of both antibiotics and anesthesia.

did they “fix” his leg? looks like they would need to amputate it!

that looks painful, straight though the f***ing bone!

….Why is there a +2 on his injured leg?

  • bob said:

Wow, I hope if I ever get injured that badly, I’d have the strength to have such a sense of humor about it. Hes got a will of solid steel.
