A basement nightclub, the WhyNot? has a capacity of 800 but accommodates partygoers quite well, with large and roomy seating areas and a big dancefloor, located in the centre of the club.

A popular venue with clubbers looking for a premier spot to unwind, the WhyNot? is busiest on a Friday and Saturday. Popular with students on a Friday, the WhyNot? plays host to a packed crowd of under-graduates, playing a blend of chart and cheese music and offering some reasonable drinks deals.

Saturday see’s an influx of workers looking for a little extra in choice of nightclub, with the WhyNot? being quite strict in their admittance policy, minimising the number of undesirables entering the club. Expect to pay about £8 for entry and slightly more for drinks, but it is worth it.

Unusually, Flare on a Monday night is also a hit with students wanting to extend their weekend of clubbing. Drinks promotions and discounted entry are available, but expect a full crowd during term time.

The WhyNot? has been around for about 10 years and still as popular as ever. Definately one for the diary, but remember your Student Card and valid I.D as entry is strict (but fair!).
