Working the doors in Aberdeen

I'm going to be doing my second year at Robert Gordon university after a stint down south. Does anyone know what are the chances of working on the doors there (as a bouncer)? I've got the new SIA badge and I want to start work straight away.

Darren, my mate is a head doorman in Aberdeen and he says the work is there, just pop by a few nightclub doors and network.

Currently he says an average door steward can get anything up to about £10, a decent steward up to £15 and a head doorman maxing at £20 per hour.

If you have an SIA then it should be easy - Just ask the bouncers - some clubs employ their own bouncers directly, some use agencies, but the bouncers will tell you which agency they use so that will give you a heads up !

I'm not sure about being a doorman, I've never done it - but when I got a job as a barman I just asked in a load of bars and hotels - it took a few days to get anywhere, but it was worth it, I ended up with an offer of a job in a nightclub and in a hotel, i took the hotel job cos the hours were better, but my advice is to go round asking!
