Situated within a few minutes of Tottenham Court Road tube station, Sin nestles on Charing Cross Road between restaurants and internet cafes, remaining largely unnoticed by the casual passer by. But to those in the know, the fittingly devilish red sign above the heavy black doors is an invitation into a glamorous club with five rooms spread across four floors.

Described as “London’s gateway to damnation” Sin boasts a smoking patio, VIP room and projection screen, as well as a 500-capacity ballroom fitted out in the finest burlesque décor, complete with chandeliers and oak spiral staircase. The VIP room is a more secluded setting but still houses its own bar and DJ booth. Downstairs in the Lounge you’ll find the most comfortable white leather seating, complimented by plush red velvet walls, and on the Ground Floor, there’s a more vibrant bar with an additional stage. Finally, the Basement is the height of luxury with mood-enhancing lighting and plenty of seating for resting your weary feet.

Sin is primarily open on Friday and Saturday nights, mainly catering for the Indie and Rock audiences. However, Popstarz on a Friday does have rooms dedicated to pop and R’n’B.

Friday – Popstarz

As the biggest alternative and gay club night in London, Popstarz is a pretty safe bet for a good night out. In it’s new home at Sin you’ll find students from across the capital – gay and straight – enjoying the themed rooms and diverse music. Popstarz policy is “great tunes, great times and cheap booze” and they certainly achieve that.

  • Entry with a web-flyer is free before 11pm/£5 with NUS before 12, £7 after/£8 all night for non-students. Discounted queue jump tickets are also available.
  • Doors open at 10pm

Saturday – Decadence and Disorder

Claiming to be London’s biggest and longest-running rock club, Decadence and Disorder offers up some treats for fans of the slightly heavier side of things. If Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stoneage and Killswitch Engage are your thing, Sin’s got your Saturday night sorted.

  • Entry is £5 before 11pm/for members, or £7 all other times.
  • Doors open at 10pm

Saturday (every 2nd and 4th of the month) - Eat It!

Reverting back to the Indie/Electro side of the Alternative coin, Eat It! aims to satisfy all your angular guitar needs. The entry fee also includes free entry to Decadence and Disorder, held on the same night, if you fancy a change.

  • Entry is £5 before 11pm/for members, or £7 all other times.
  • Doors open at 10pm

Verdict

Once you’ve found it, Sin provides a good night out. If you’re not into your Indie/Alternative music, it’s probably not for you but if you are, it’s heaven.
