Located in the heart of Glasgow, on Sauchiehall St, the Garage has been revving the student population in “Glasvegas” for almost 13 years, making it one of the most well established hangouts in the city. With a friendly atmosphere for locals and freshers alike, the Garage doesn’t insist you be a mechanic, or indeed know anything about the motoring world.

The Garage’s fuel is its DJs, with over 8 on any one night, playing a selection of Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB, Rock, Chart, Metal or anything else you can think of. As the race heats up, the club provides a memorable night out on any day of the week, with pocket friendly prices and a fun atmosphere. Even the long Winter nights can’t cool this engine, as the club is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

If the dancefloor isn’t to your taste, perhaps a live gig is, and there is no shortage of bands willing to powerhouse their way through the night. Finnish legends Hanoi Rocks, metal titans All That Remains and rockers The Almighty are just some of the bands who have previously graced the Garage’s mainstage willing and able to return for more. Having finished their set, most bands like to join their audience, partying the night away with an after gig DJ live inhouse.

Two smaller rooms, the Attic and the G2, make for a quieter and more hassle free choice to the evenings entertainment leaving you free to worry about the important things like cheap Vodka and promotional shots. Early birds catch the worm at the Garage, with most nights offering free entry before midnight, and continuing on until 3am.

Monday: Poptisim/Rocktisim with DJ Andy and DJ Dec with a choice of rock and pop hits until 3am. Admission plus one is free before midnight and costs just £5 (£3) after.

Wednesday: Wicked Wednesday (Main Hall) sees DJ Andy and Disco set you cheeky tasks, cunning stunts and wicked tasks all in the name of free drinks and a good time. Vodka and Fosters cost just £1 a bottle with Vodka or a JD mixer costing £1.50 and WKD just £2.

If you’re heading to the Garage in the next few weeks, you could do worse then to check out the Halloween promotions, with the Garage’s legendary 14th Halloween party night on (thats right) Oct 31st 2008. Best dressed prize on the night is £400, and while entry will cost you a hefty £7 (£5), that does include a free drink for all those in costume.

On Nov 1st you can relive, quite literally, the night before with a Zombie themed Day of the Dead Part 3. And, should flesh eating zombies and wearing your grandmothers old tights to get a free drink not be to your liking, high society evening wear certainly comes into play on Nov 3rd, when the Garage hosts Casino night, complete with real casino tables and Martinis shaken but not stirred. Entry £5 (£3)

Whatever the occasion, whatever the atmosphere, students (and those who wish they were still students) can be assured of a great night out!
