Nightclubs in Liverpool
Liverpool is the home of the legendry group Beatles and the nightlife in this city is rocking with plenty of music aficionados frequenting the pubs, clubs and bars which dot the city. The Times once said that the students in Liverpool should be given a degree in socializing because pub hopping, drinking like a fish and generally having a good time seem to be the favourite past time for most students here. To add to the comfort, the city is safe, friendly and well connected by buses and inexpensive taxis.
For a student on a shoe string budget, there are plenty of places to have a good time. There are abundant clubs and bars that have regular students nights offering cheap drinks and great ambiance.
All the Beatles fans usually flock to the Cavern Pub on the Mathew Street where the famous four played more than 300 gigs. Since entry to the club is free on most nights, the Indie music and live bands ensure that the club is packed to the gills every week night. It is popular both with students and tourists alike.
The Blue Angle once frequented by the likes of Beatles is now a hard core students hub. It offers cheesy music and insanely cheap drinks at 50p which are hard to resist by the students who descend here in droves. Popular numbers are played here and you will find inebriated folks letting their hair down and chanting and jumping to music. It’s a great place to hang out due to its fun loving crowd.
Garlands hosts students nights on Thursdays and attracts an eclectic mix of the locals and the young student clubbers. The club plays a variety of music right from disco to house music and is a great place to have a few drinks with your mates. The dress code is casual and though the club is gay friendly, it appeals to the pink crowd as well. Since it is spread out in a large area, despite the huge crowds, you won’t feel cramped in here.
The Krazy House is a hub of alternative crowds. Spread out in three floors it can hold a crowd of 800 people and regularly hosts all nighters and live music for the eclectic crowd that features here. From Punks to moshers, you will find all the sub cultures frequenting this club and the music can vary from Indie pop to hard metal. The people dance like prats and are all pumped up due to the cheap and plentiful drinks on offer here. The entrance costs £2 till midnight and the drinks come with a 2 for 1 offer.
Started by the three students the Chibuku Shake Shake is a cosy venue with little frills but has an amazingly unruly atmosphere which caters to its music loving crowd which includes students as well as people who have a passion for good music. Well known DJs play gigs at this club which is located on the Seel Street and over a period of time the club has become one of the top favourites at Liverpool.
A few more bars and pubs that are students’ favourite haunts are the Bumper on Hardman Street and Metropolitan at the Berry Street. La Bateau offers Indie pop galore while the Magnet is well known for its Voodoo and hip hop nights. In short there is no dearth of drinking bars and clubs in the city of Liverpool where nights are for living it out and days are for well hopefully exams and studies!
