Many students become dance or fitness trainers and in the summer months swimming instructors and lifeguards are in great demand. Summer camps open up many possibilities for art and music and if you know how to play an instrument or can paint well, then these short term jobs will fetch you a tidy sum of money.

Modelling is full of glamour and glitz and pays extremely well, so if you have the looks flaunt it! Try tapping the advertising agencies as models of all shapes and sizes are always in demand. If facing the camera gives you the jitters and yet you want to be a part of the industry, try your hand at event management. Sporting events, musical concerts, film premiers and many other similar events are held throughout the year and need many volunteers.

If you know a couple of other languages besides English and are fluent in them, then a translator’s job might be the one for you. Many political and business meetings cannot be conducted without the help of a translator as many foreign dignitaries and business associates find it difficult to communicate in English. You can also take up a tour guide’s job where your language skills would be highly appreciated.

Working while attending college may not be an easy decision, but it is definitely a step in the right direction. These jobs are beneficial after graduation as employers are more likely to hire students with prior work experience.
